For mental health practitioners, teachers, social workers and other professionals.
This workshop will examine the latest contributions to our understanding of the broad construct of wellbeing and how it relates to preventing suicide. Areas of focus include: Identifying mental illness such as depression, anxiety, bipolar mood disorder, schizophrenia and personality disorder: Identifying someone who may be suicidal: How to have a difficult but life saving conversation: taking steps toward support.
Time will also be given to aspects of hope theory, optimism and the latest thinking on psychological wellbeing theory, as well as the steps we can take to keep ourselves mentally well.
